In the past 30 years, Beijing BBEF Science & Technology Co., Ltd. From ‘Go globally’ to ‘the Belt and Road Initiatives’ and expand overseas markets actively.

As an old state-owned enterprise in the radio and television industry, BBEF has taken the lead in ‘Going global’ in the 1990s.

‘From 2000 to 2005, BBEF built shortwave stations, shortwave antennas and towers for Cuba. Since 2000, we have built 10 broadcasting transmitting stations and 74 television transmitting stations in Ethiopia and provided equipment and solutions to realize watching TV for local residents. In 2013, after President Xi Jinping put forward ‘the Belt and Road Initiatives’, BBEF increased the cooperation and investment of countries along ‘the Belt and Road Initiatives’, transforming from a pure product export to a new mode of product export + technology export.’ Gao Bin, deputy general manager of BBEF, told to the journalist of China Press and Publication Radio and Television News.

At present, in the cooperation and investment between Chinese enterprises and the countries along ‘the Belt and Road Initiatives’, central enterprises and local state-owned enterprises are the main forces and leaders, and BBEF also takes an active part in it. As the largest manufacturer of broadcasting and TV transmission equipment in China, BBEF not only actively expands the channels of import and export of products, but also participates in the infrastructure construction of broadcasting industry in countries along ‘the Belt and Road Initiatives’, and its products are exported to 37 countries and regions in Europe, America, Africa and southeast Asia.

From export of products to export of technology standards, we will help China's science and technology go global.

‘While BBEF is actively expanding the international market and encouraging the export of products, we also vigorously promote the export of technologies to enhance the international influence of enterprise brands and increase the global market share. In 2012, Cuba DTT set-top box plant construction project by BBEF is not only simple equipment export, installation and commissioning, but also to provide equipment materials and technical documents, even plant construction technical services to customers, such as plant layout planning, production, inspection process and working procedure, related personnel training, etc. This project marks the transformation of BBEF from single equipment export to equipment, technology and standard export, and pushes the company's overseas market expansion mode to a new height.’ Xu Jiangwei, Chairman and General Manager of BBEF, said.

It is reported that in 2009, BBEF completed the test and promotion of DTMB TV standard in Cuba, and realized the export of equipment and radio and television technology standard. In the following years, the construction of 47 digital television stations was completed, increasing the coverage of Cuban digital television signals from less than 60% to 90%. From 2013 to 2014, BBEF successively built digital TV stations in Mongolia and the Philippines, which has written a new chapter for the overseas markets of BBEF.

From single production and construction to the whole system go global, from the infrastructure construction of radio and television stations to the industrial construction of set top box plant, from the countries of Africa to Latin America, from the export of Chinese products and technologies to Chinese standards, BBEF extends the overseas markets by virtue of ‘the Belt and Road Initiatives’, and steadily increase our core competitiveness through scientific and technological innovation.

From mechanism reform to product innovation, create ‘the Belt and Road Initiatives’ Chinese brand.

The smooth development and extension of overseas markets requires support and guarantee from various aspects, and should be in line with international standards from technology to products and services to mechanisms. In 2018, Cai qi, Secretary of Beijing municipal party Committee, indicated in the research of Beijing Electronics Holding Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as the BEHC) that strengthen platform construction of high-grade, high-precision, advanced industry focused on integrated circuit equipment, manufacturing and technology service, foster more internationally competitive enterprises and build a ‘Carrier Battle Group’ of new and high technology industries in Beijing. In December 2018, BEHC announced the reorganization of Beijing C&W Self-service Equipment Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as the C&W) and BBEF to form BEHC intelligent equipment industry platform, which further improved and optimized the development capacity, production scale and sales channels of BBEF in the field of radio and television.

While actively expanding the domestic and overseas markets, BBEF also attaches great importance to technological research and product innovation. In 2013, BBEF participated in the national key technical infrastructure China spallation neutron source (CSNS) project, and developed all-solid-state high-energy power source. After the CSNS project passed the national acceptance in 2018, the institute of High Energy Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences awarded BBEF the honorary certificate and medal of "important contribution and participation group". In November 2018, BBEF and Beijing Information Technology College jointly established the BBEF-BITC collaborative innovation center to conduct research and development of school-enterprise collaborative technology, and reached product-study-research all-round cooperation in such fields as student internship, part-time teaching of enterprise technical personnel, enterprise staff training and transformation of research and development results.
